What it costs
One price a year covering the domain, the site and the hosting. It varies by name, and this page explains why rather than making you find out at checkout.
What you pay for
Your price is the domain's actual annual cost plus our fee. That is the whole bill. There is no separate hosting charge, no page limit, no template tier, and nothing that becomes chargeable later once you have built something you would rather not lose.
Included, for everyone, at every price:
- The domain, registered and renewed for as long as you keep the site.
- Hosting, with no traffic limit that a CV could plausibly reach.
- The editor, and as many changes as you like.
- Every format — Europass, International, Ledger, Studio — switchable whenever you want.
- Printing to PDF straight from your page.
Why the number moves
Different endings cost different amounts, and registries set those prices, not us. A .com is not the same as a .me, and a name a registry has decided is valuable can be several times either. That is why the price appears only once you have typed your name and picked an address — quoting an average before then would mean quoting some people a number we could not honour.
The figure shown while you are looking around is indicative. The binding price is the one on the checkout page, and we re-check it again before we register anything.
Renewal
We open a renewal about thirty days before your domain expires and email you. If the registry has raised the price materially we tell you the new number rather than charging it quietly. If the renewal goes unpaid, your site keeps serving while we remind you — a CV is set-and-forget, and the owner usually finds out something is wrong when someone says their link is broken.
If it stays unpaid the site eventually shows a holding page that returns 503, never 404. That distinction matters: search engines drop a 404 within days, and losing your place in search results is the one thing paying late should not cost you. Nothing is deleted, and paying puts it back in minutes.
The domain is registered in our name
We are the registrant; you rent the domain for as long as you are a customer. We say so here, on the checkout page and in the terms, because it is the thing most people would otherwise assume the opposite of.
The counterweight is that leaving with it is real. Ask and we unlock the domain and give you the transfer code, your billing stops, and your site keeps serving while the move goes through. ICANN forbids transferring a domain in its first sixty days, so if you ask inside that window we tell you the date rather than a vague refusal.
Custom Website
The bespoke tier is quoted per project, because it depends entirely on what you want built. Tell us what you have in mind and we will tell you the cost before anything starts. The domain and the hosting are included in it, the same as everywhere else.
Cancelling, and getting your money back
Cancelling means we do not renew — it is not a shutdown. You paid for a year and you get the year; the site stays up until it expires. Charging for time you have not had would make being honest about leaving feel like a punishment.
Polar Software Inc. is the seller of record and takes the payment, so it is their name on your statement and they issue any refund. Write to us and we will sort it out with them.
