Do I own the domain?
No — we register it and you rent it for as long as you are a customer. Most services in this shape leave that vague, so: the registrant on record is our company, not you. The counterweight is that leaving with it is real. Ask at any time and we unlock the domain and hand you the transfer code, your billing stops, and your site keeps serving while it moves.
How long until my site is live?
Usually within a day. A person looks at every domain by hand before we buy it, because a registry can price a name far above the standard rate and we would rather check than register something automatically that costs many times what you paid. That check is the reason we do not promise thirty minutes.
How do I sign in?
At your own address. If your site is yourname.com then you sign in at yourname.com/login. There is no password: you type your email, we send a link, and clicking it signs you in. That also means your account is only ever reachable from your own domain.
Can I change the format later?
Yes, as often as you like, at no cost. Every format reads the same CV underneath, so switching is one click and nothing is retyped. It is genuinely useful: a European employer expects a Europass document, and the same fields in the International format leave out the photograph, date of birth and nationality that would work against you elsewhere.
What if my name is already taken?
We show you what is actually free — the same name on .com, .cv, .name, .page and .me, with and without a hyphen — and we show you what is gone rather than hiding it. If we cannot reach a registry to check, we say so instead of guessing, because offering you something we could not confirm would mean taking money for a name we might not be able to register.
Can I still get a PDF?
Yes. Print from your page and you get a clean file laid out for paper, with the buttons and the page furniture stripped out. Plenty of applications still want something to attach.
Do you track people who visit my CV?
No. Your page loads no third-party code at all — no analytics, no advertising pixels, no fonts fetched from somebody else. That is also why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. The only cookies we set at all are the ones that keep you signed in and keep our own forms safe to submit — none of them follow you anywhere, and your published CV sets none.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your site keeps serving first — a failed card is usually an expired card, not a decision. If it stays unpaid the page eventually shows a holding notice that returns 503, never 404, so search engines keep your place rather than dropping you within days. Nothing is deleted, and paying restores it in minutes. Only much later, and after warning, is anything erased.
Does the holding page say I have not paid?
No. Whoever is looking is usually a recruiter or someone you sent the link to, and announcing that you are behind on a bill to exactly that audience would be a small humiliation. It says the site is temporarily unavailable, which is all that is true and all that is anyone else's business.
Can I cancel?
Yes, from your account, and it means we do not renew rather than that we switch you off. You paid for a year and you get the year. You can also export everything — your CV, your payment history, your account details — as a file, and delete the whole account outright if you would rather.
Will my CV show up when someone searches my name?
It is built to. Your page is plain HTML with no JavaScript needed to read it, so a search engine gets the whole thing on first visit, and it sits at your own domain rather than on a shared profile site. We cannot promise a position — nobody honestly can — but nothing about how it is built works against you.
Who actually charges my card?
Polar Software Inc. is the seller of record and takes the payment, so it is their name that appears on your statement and they issue any refund. We are DAC WEB SERVICES SRL, and we run the service.
